The download flow is short and well-trodden, but the two things that can go wrong are:
  1. The download page can’t reach the latest build manifest.
  2. macOS Gatekeeper hesitates on first launch.

”Downloads are temporarily unavailable”

If the download page can’t fetch the manifest, you’ll see:
Downloads are temporarily unavailable. We couldn’t reach the download manifest. Please try again in a few minutes, or email us if it persists. Email support@reload.chat
What to try:
  1. Wait a few minutes and refresh. This is almost always transient.
  2. Check that your network can reach app.reload.chat and download.reload.chat.
  3. If you’re behind a corporate firewall, your network admin may need to allowlist *.reload.chat.
  4. If it persists, click the email link in the fallback — we want to know if the download surface is down.

macOS Gatekeeper: “App can’t be opened”

On first launch, macOS sometimes warns about apps it doesn’t recognise yet. If you see a dialog like “Reload can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software”:
1

Close the warning

Hit Cancel on the dialog (don’t click Move to Trash).
2

Right-click Reload in Applications

Open Applications, find Reload, and right-click (or control-click) the icon.
3

Choose Open from the menu

A new dialog appears with an Open button that bypasses the standard Gatekeeper check.
4

Click Open

macOS remembers your choice — the next launch goes through normally.
This is standard macOS guidance for apps installed outside the Mac App Store, not specific to Reload — Apple’s notarization service occasionally takes a moment to recognise new builds even when they’re signed.

Windows and Linux

The Windows and Linux installers aren’t out yet. From the download page, switch to Windows or Linux to see the Coming soon panel and click Notify me when it’s ready to email us — we’ll let you know the moment the installer ships.
