# Notifications

> Configure Reload desktop notifications — turn alerts on per channel or DM, pick a sound, and set Do Not Disturb schedules so you're not pinged after hours.

The **Notifications** tab controls when and how Reload pages your desktop.

## Desktop notifications

* **Desktop notifications** *(toggle)* — show native OS banners when a message needs your attention. On by default.

## Notify me for

Pick how aggressively Reload notifies you:

* **All messages** — every new message in every channel you're in.
* **Mentions + DMs only** — only when you're `@mentioned` or someone DMs you.
* **Nothing** — silence everything from Reload.

## Sound

* **Sound** *(toggle)* — play a chime alongside the banner. On by default.
* **Notification sound** — pick the chime: `Default`, `Chime`, `Bell`, or `None`.

## Do Not Disturb

* **Start** and **End** time pickers — silence notifications between these hours.
* The range **wraps midnight automatically** — set `22:00` → `08:00` and Reload will be quiet from 10pm to 8am the next morning.

Leave either field empty to disable DnD.

## Per-channel mute

The Notifications tab is workspace-wide. To mute a single noisy channel (without touching your global settings), open that channel's **Channel settings** panel and toggle notifications under **Notifications**.
